At Weber School District, the safety and well-being of every student, staff member, and visitor is our highest priority. We are dedicated to a comprehensive school safety approach that focuses on prevention, intervention, response, and recovery. Our district utilizes the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), developed by the I Love U Guys Foundation, to ensure that we are prepared to respond effectively to any emergency situation. In addition, every school uses the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) to proactively address potential threats and prevent school violence.
We believe in fostering a positive school climate where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered. Promoting a culture of awareness and belonging is one of the greatest preventative measures we can take when it comes to school safety.
Over the past several years, we have invested heavily in efforts to enhance the physical security of our schools. These measures include:
Constructing secure entryways and vestibules.
Expanding electronic access control.
Expanding our security camera system.
Equipping classrooms with panic alerts devices.
Upgrading facilities to meet newly established Utah School Safety Standards.
We also contract and collaborate with local law enforcement to have School Resource Officers (SRO) present in our schools to support school safety initiatives. For questions or concerns related to school safety and security, please contact our Safety Department.
