Dear Parent/Guardians,
Hello Burch Creek Families!! We hope you are all trying to enjoy your last few weeks of summer. We can’t wait to see all your smiling faces when you return to school next week! We are sending this letter out to you to inform you that our free and reduced lunch applications are now available. You may contact your schools if you would like to fill out a paper form or you may also go to the main office which is located at 955 W 12th St., Ogden, UT 84404. You can also access the application on the Weber School District Portal. Here is how:
Go to Weber School District Website (MyWeber).
- Click on the MyWeber tab up on the right and sign in or sign up if you haven’t, yet (Instructions to Register for MyWeber Account)
- Once signed in, you will Click on the Tools tab
- Then Click on Meal Application and start your process.
Please make sure and double check all info after you have filled it out, so everything is correct before submitting. Once you submit you cannot go back into to fix anything. This process is quite fast and the district should email you about their decision within 3-4 days.
Applying for our Free/Reduced lunches actually helps our schools out for possible funding, which includes the FFVP (fresh fruit and vegetable programs) that give our students the opportunity to try various types of Fruits and Veggies along with other programs. We encourage everyone to try and apply for our Free/Reduced Program.
Also, if your student is participating in our Flexible Short Term or Long Term online learning options, the district is still having lunches made for you! So don’t think that if your child/student is learning from home they won’t get a meal. Online students have access to Grab ‘N’ Go lunches (some Grab ‘N’Goes may need to be warmed up at home). These lunches will be made at 4 Hub Schools, including:
Burch Creek Elementary 9:30AM -10AM
Roy Jr High (call for times)
Weber Innovation Center (call for times)
Orchard Springs (call for times)
You may want to contact these schools to find out their serving times, as they may be different from our school. We are still getting more Information about these Hub locations and how the process is going to work. We will try our best and get the information out to you all as it comes our way here at the school. So, please bear with us as we are also learning about this lunch situation.
We also want to let you know, if your child/ student was already on the free/reduced lunch program you must reapply every new school year. The drop off date for the previous school year is October 7, 2020. Please make sure to renew their applications beforehand. If you have any questions, please do give us a call and we will help you to the best of our knowledge.
Sincerely,
Melissa Yarrington
CPN Manager of Burch Creek Elementary
