Community Council Meeting Minutes

Agenda

Welcome (Katie Amsden) and review of minutes from 2/1/24 -Emailed (Marissa Meadows)

Proposal for the upcoming Trustland plan for 2024-2025 school year: 

1. One Goal for next year- READING GOAL: Every student L-6th grade will make a typical or above typical years worth of growth as reported by Acadience Pathways to Progress. 

Money will be spend in the following areas to reach the goal: 

$45,000 on Paraprofessionals to run small reading groups using 95% and other research based strategies. 

$5,000 on IXL licenses (only half of the amount-other half will come from TSA $) to enhance ELA instruction. 

$10,000 for PLC teachers. PLC teachers will take the class while teachers collaborate to enhance student learning.

$4,000 for substitutes for teachers to attend conferences, administer reading assessments and/or any other reading related needs. 

$25,000 Chromebook lease and other technology related supplies.

Total =$84,000 

Sharee Brand motioned to approve the proposal and Randi Dunyon seconded the motion. Voted and passed unanimously. 

There is an error on the state Trustland website that states that we have a $19,000 carry over from last year. That is an error. We do not have any money that was a carry over and WSD finance department is working with the state to correct the error. 

School Data Review

2. Middle of Year growth scores from Burch Creek Elementary show as a school 60% or more of the students have already made typical or above typical growth according to Acadience Pathways to Progress. 

School updates

1. Newline Panels have been purchased 
2. All the outside entry doors now have keyless entry

Other Items of business

1. PTA update and voting
2. Members should be getting emails from the School Children Trust relating to the Community Council.
