Minutes Community Council Meeting 

10.3.24

Attendance: Jessica Peterson, Jordan Dickson, Katie East, Alyssa Adams, Chantel Eggett, Stephanie Scheffler, Randi Dunyon, Monica Widdison, Katie Amsden 

 

  • Welcome and introductions 
  • Monica Widdison from Weber School District presented the digital literacy presentation to the council. There was good discussion about how this information could be more widely communicated to other parents at our school. Monica will send the link to the presentation to Mrs. Amsden and she will have it posted on the website. It was also suggested that at our Title I family night we do a “parent learning” class to inform parents of their responsibilities in digital literacy. 
  • Voting process was reviewed with the council. We had 41 responses to the google doc that was sent on Sept 9, 2024. 40/1 votes in favor of keeping the current members. 41/41 of adding the new members to the council.
  • Rules of order were presented. The council reviewed. Jessica Peterson moved to accept the Rules of Order and Chantel Eggett seconded the motion. 
  • Q & A from Mrs. Amsden to new members of the council regarding the purpose, funding and current 24-25 plan. Mrs. Amsden showed the council members our school website and where they can find all the information for our community council. There was discussion about our school's current reading goal on the School Land Trust plan and the progress we have made. 
  • Title I plan update from Mrs. Dunyon was discussed. The plan is focused on reading achievement school wide. 
  • Randi Dunyon moved to adjourn the meeting and Alyssa Adams seconded the motion. 
  • Meeting dismissed at 6:59 pm
