Community Council Meeting Minutes

January 10, 2019

I.               In attendance: Seth Robinson, Melanie Wilhelmsen, Amy Rich, Rick Proffer, and Jessica Volpe

II.             The community council reviewed upcoming calendar requirements and deadlines.  Every spring the community council holds elections.  Rick Proffer will create a news flyer with information about community council and how to become involved.  The council will post notice for elections on March 10, 2019.  The elections will be held the week of March 25-29, 2019.

III.           The community council reviewed the Trust Land Plan for the 2018-2019 school year.  The money will primarily be spent on aides for interventions/small group instruction and technology (chrome book carts).

IV.           The community council reviewed the financial expenditures that had been made between July 1, 2018, and January 9, 2019.  All expenditures were in compliance with how the community council allocated the funds to be used. 

V.             The community council discussed digital citizenship.  The council will share digital citizenship information on the Burch Creek Elementary website and also on the Burch Creek Elementary PTA Facebook page.  There are a lot of great resources and information to be found for parents and children at:

VI.           A copy of the Burch Creek Title I Plan was at the meeting and available for council members to review. 

VII.         The next community council meeting will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. in the Burch Creek Media Center.
