Community Council Meeting Minutes
April 11, 2019
5:00 P.M. in the library

I. In attendance: Seth Robinson, Nicole McGarry, Melanie Wilhelmsen, Amy Rich, Jessica Volpe, Rick Proffer, Angie Snowden, Jenny Weller, Mackenzie McFadden, and Angeline Garbett-Marcotte

II. The community council reviewed the Trust Land Plan for the 2018-2019 school year. Rick Proffer shared information about the Trust Land money that has already been spent during the 2018-2019 school year and how the remainder of the funds are allocated. As of 4/11/2019, money had been spent on aides salaries/ benefits and a chromebook cart (which includes 42 chromebooks and a plug-in cart).

III. The community council reviewed the Trust Land Plan for 2019-2020 school year. Goal 1 states that 80% of students K-6 will demonstrate proficiency in reading/literacy. The secondary indicator is that students will improve their reading scores by 20%. Goal 2 states that 80% of students K-6 will demonstrate proficiency in mathematics/numeracy. The secondary indicator is that students will improve their mathematics scores by 20%. Money will primarily be spent on technology and aide salaries/ benefits to reach those goals.

IV. The community council held elections and nominations for the 2019-2020 school year. Nicole McGarry proposed to step down from her position on the council. Melanie Wilhelmsen seconded the motion. All were in favor. Amy Rich proposed to step down from her position on the council. Seth Robinson seconded the motion. All were in favor. In addition, both Seth Robinson’s and Melanie Wilhelmsen’s positions on the council expire at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. This left four parent positions open for the 2019-2020 school year. Nicole McGarry motioned that the present nominees (namely Angeline Garbett-Marcotte, Jenny Weller, Mackenzie McFadden, and Seth Robinson) be seated as the 2019-2020 parent members of the Burch Creek Community Council. Jessica Volpe seconded the motion. All were in favor.

V. Each newly elected parent-member for the 2019-2020 community council shared information about themselves. After getting to know a little bit more about each parent member it was determined that they would serve in the following positions on the 2019-2020 community council:

a. Angeline Garbett-Marcotte: Chair
b. Seth Robinson: Vice Chair
c. Jenny Weller: Secretary
d. Mackenzie McFadden: Parent

VI. Nicole McGarry motioned to end the meeting. Rick Proffer seconded the motion. All were in favor.
