Meeting Minutes

II - Discussion of amendment of Goal #1 to add language of aide funds. The phrase “and for teacher and PLC time” was added to the Action Plan Steps, Expenditures, and Funding Changes. The motion was proposed for approval by Angeline and seconded by Nicole McGarry.

III - Discussion of COVID-related impacts on education among students. Dibels were lower, as expected. 575 Students registered in school. Started year with 90 online, as of meeting 54 online.

Discussed virtual STEM night and other ideas to keep family engagement with school. We also discussed was to give teachers support, validation and empowering kids to help school.

Art- McKenzie mentioned rotating out artwork hanging throughout the school. We brainstormed ideas of a tv monitor to have an art slideshow of students’ artwork.

Building community during COVID- discussed some ideas to involve families/community in our school, such as goose chase app scavenger hunt and are open to other ideas to keep families engaged and involved.

IV - Change to online school for 2nd quarter. Students are enrolled in teacher’s class, but not physically in class. They’re now enrolled in Weber Online through the district and assigned a new teacher for online study and support. All teachers worked all summer being trained on canvas and online teaching tools. Teachers are looking for ways to reach students who aren’t here in person. We talked about some ways for the online students to still feel part of the school, such as picking up an art kit etc.

No transmission of COVID in school so far. School and students and faculty are doing an excellent job to comply with guidelines.

Meeting End - Meeting Ended at 6:50pm
