STEM OLYMPIAD

The 34th annual STEM Olympiad is an exciting competition designed to inspire and celebrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills among students in grades 3-6.

Here’s what you need to know:

Event Details: May 14 and 15, 2026 @ West Field High School, 2007 S 4300 W St, Ogden, UT 84401. This event is run in collaboration with the Iron Kid Event, being held at the same time and place.

Who Participates: All 30 elementary schools in our district.

Schedule: Each school is assigned to compete on one of the two days (details will be provided by your school).

Student Participation: Each grade (3rd-6th) forms teams to compete in the following events:

-Krypto (Math Strategy Game): Team of 3 students

-SET (Pattern Recognition Game): Team of 2 students

-Pentominoes (Spatial Reasoning Challenge): Team of 2 students

-Tile Trials (Math Puzzle Challenge): Team of 2 students

-Experimental Design: Team of 3 students (6th=2 students)

-Engineering Challenge: Team of 3 students (6th=2 students)

--Sphero Challenge: Team of 2 (6th Grade only)

How Are Teams Chosen? Students practice throughout the school year and compete at their school to earn a spot on their school’s team.

Family Involvement: Parents and guardians are welcome to attend and cheer on the students! There will also be a Mini STEM Expo featuring booths with activities hosted by high school clubs, athletic teams, and community organizations.
